Often while watching "Werckmeister Harmonies" I was either hypnotized to the brink of unconsciousness or irritated almost to the point of ejecting the DVD and throwing it across the room. Yet when it was over I immediately watched it again to take in the dazzling mise-en-scene and haunting monochrome imagery.
For some this might work best as a sleeping aid.
