Review of Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price (2005) by Allen D — 10 Jul 2010
Everyone knows that Wal-Mart is basically evil and that they destroy mom and pop stores for the purpose of making vast amounts of money. Watching this documentary merely tries to reinforce what you already know in the urge to get you to stop shopping there.
The movie is filled with interviews with all levels of Wal-Mart employees, clips from ... See Morecommercials, and attempts at throwing the metaphorical egg on Scott Lee's face. Most info was not surprising but there were a few interesting points.
For instance, what Wal-Mart considers full time, how much money the Walton family is worth, and the disproportionate amount of money that is donated by that family compared to what the Wal-Mart employees donate.
Is this movie worth renting/watching. It's not likely that you'll see this on the shelf at most rental chains(the ones that are left) or in red box, but it's on the instant queue and interesting none the less.
