Review of Wake Up Sid (2009) by Adarsh N — 21 Nov 2009

Without a doubt, this is one of the best Indian movies released this year. The storyline is something that we can all relate to - whether it's something we've done ourselves or whether it's something we've seen in a friend. The story is basically about a rich boy who lacks goals in life and spends all his time having fun, until he meets a friend who helps him realize the importance of independence. Ranbir Kapoor is perfect as "Sid." You can feel every emotion he goes through due to his performance. Konkona Sen provides good support. The role isn't necessary worthy of her (extreme) talent, but she is perfect in the role of Aisha. The supporting cast is great - namely Anupam Kher and the actress who plays Sid's mother.

It's a very realistic story and leaves its mark on you. I'd recommend it!
