Review of Wake in Fright (1971) by Andrew T — 22 Aug 2009
Utterly compelling, frightening and captivating. Pleasance and Bond deliver equally strong performances on different sides of the insanity coin. Scenes so intense you don't dare move for fear of snapping the air.
And the whole thing is infused with a really palpable portent of malice...god, it's brilliant. Deserves to be seen a lot more than it has been.
