Review of Victor Frankenstein (2015) by Greg B — 30 Nov 2015
"Victor Frankenstein" is an adaptation of previous Frankenstein movies about the creation of a sentient being made of various body parts that is supposed to revolutionize science. James Mcavoy starts as the mad genius and Daniel Radcliffe plays his assistant who is rescued from the circus and cured of his spinal deficiencies.
I thought the movie had some entertainment value but it was hampered by uneven pacing and a very unorthodox portrayal of the source material. This movie went in a different direction than I thought it would and while I applaud the cavalier directing, I think many viewers may have a hard time relating to this take on the story.
Many Frankenstein movies are superior to this one and this one does nothing to break from the mold ------------------------------------------------------------- C+.
