Review of Victor Frankenstein (2015) by Luke S — 28 Nov 2015
The classic tale told through Igor's POV, VICTOR FRANKENSTEIN doesn't do the legend any new favors. If you have seen any version from the past, then you have seen it all. But, I didn't particularly hated this version either. James McAvoy and Daniel Radcliffe look like they are having fun with McAvoy overacting to the point his performance is enjoyable to watch. The style of the film is like the Sherlock Holmes films directed by Guy Ritchie. The action is fast and the characters are over the top. This is far from a classic, but the movie embraces its silliness and the climax is exciting when the monster is finally revealed. Plus, McAvoy and Radcliffe are fun to watch together.
Grade: B-.
