No other film made after this Hitchcock masterpiece has quite grasped the true depth and psychosis of love and loss. With brilliant performances from Jimmy Stewart and Kim Novak, whose darkly dramatic scenes are accompanied by one of the best musical scores to grace a Hitchcock picture, this dreamlike thriller is one of the finest of its genre.
Tender, intriguing, and haunting all the way through, it never loses its grip.
