Review of Vera Drake (2004) by Nathan B — 25 Mar 2008
The film pullls you into it's setting with through understated techniques. That ultimately makes this really emotionally devastating when the story reaches it's third act. It's testament to the masterful direction of Mike Leigh and his humanist approach to filmmaking.
Imelda Staunton is pitch perfect.
