Review of V/H/S/2 (2013) by Luke B — 12 Nov 2013
This is a vast improvement over "V/H/S", but it's still not very good. The best segments ... Edúardo Sanchez and Gregg Hale's novel zombie tale, and Gareth Evans and Timo Tjahjanto's great gory bit of batshit craziness .
.. are seriously harmed by the found footage gimmick. What could have been great little horror shorts if shot carefully dissolve into incoherent nonsense due to the need to fix the point of view to a character .
.. any character. Jason Eisener's segment is a good idea that never evolves into anything. It's all incoherent sound and light. Frankly, the gimmick doesn't even make any sense. Every segment is supposedly filmed by somebody using some kind of moderately high tech device.
Who would transfer digital video to VHS?
