Review of V/H/S/2 (2013) by Damon S — 14 Nov 2015
A cool collection of short flicks that intertwine with each other that leaves the viewer saying "what was that again?" A decent sequel to the firsyt VHS this version follows the same format. The shorts are for the most part done well with great SPX.
The stories are creepy, macabe, with the seemingly cliche' nude clips and vulgarity sprinkled within. Though unlike the first VHS some of the characters who get killed don't deserve it. IN the 1st VHS you were rooting for the bad guy.
The zombie flick was great breaking stereotypes for the genre. Papa was just flat out macabe and weird. I felt that some scripts were more shallow than others and relied on the special effects, but the premises were new to make up for some.
Overall VHS 2 was a nice sequel that delivers horror and suspense with some good story telling.
