The first act is moody and engaging. Then the movie loses all steam before devolving into a third act so riddled with cliches it's as if the screenwriters were copying straight from the action-movie-trope handbook, complete with a superfluous villain monologue, the damsel in distress, and a laughable Mexican standoff.
