Review of Unfaithfully Yours (1948) by Davey M — 04 Feb 2008
As warm, witty, and wonderful a film as ever Sturges made (high praise coming from someone who loves the man as much as I). As blackly funny as Kind Hearts and Coronets, but with a genuine, surprisingly moving tenderness beneath the hilariously morbid antics.
More polished than much of Sturges' work--but in a good way, without losing all those glorious pratfalls or the deliciously unique, now-witty-now-wacky sense of humor. An absolute gem of a movie.
