Review of Umberto D. (1952) by Decadence D — 13 Nov 2007
I loved everything about this film. I think if anyone has experienced what Umberto experiences in the film there is an instant connection with his sorrows. It's like listening to that perfect song when you're feeling a certain emotion reflected in the music- except with this film it's reflected in the story, acting, cinematography, score, etc.
It reminded me of Charlie Chaplin's 'The Kid'. So much more could be said technically and theoretically, but this would an instance I'd rather not my intelligence get in the way emotion.
