Review of Turbo Kid (2015) by William A — 25 Sep 2018
Since this movie didn't doesn't have any pre-existing materials to adapt from such as a published novel or an established comic series it has free reign to do whatever it wants to its characters and viewers can't get upset about it.
It's a fun synth music filled homage to the 80's. Since this film follows a young kid it takes on a similiar perspective as The Goonies or flight of the Navigator going through the wasteland fighting off Zeus's warriors it takes on an homage to Robocop with it's ramped up gore and notes from the Mad Max: Road Warrior universe this feels like more of a pleasure cruise and not a drag race through the waste.
Scenic designers took there time setting up set pieces. This is a delightful homage to Post-apocalyptic wasteland where in order to save Humanity and save his friends The Kid is going to have to get his one of a kind Turbo Glove Dirty.
