Review of Touch of Evil (1958) by Louise D — 23 Sep 2012
Citizen Kane the best movie ever made? Its not even the best Orson Welles made - this is. Only Welles could adapt for the screen a book he had never read and still make it a masterpiece. His grotesque Quinlan against Charlton Heston's upright Vargas is the moral core of the film but as ever with Welles, the direction and photographer is often the star.
