Review of Top Hat (1935) by Chiara M — 15 Apr 2008
If you've seen The Green Mile, then you've at least seen part of this movie. One of its key dance sequences ("Cheek to Cheek") is used to illustrate that beauty and art exist in a world that can often be cruel and unfair.
The plotline is absurd (to say the least), but none of that matters when they start dancing and singing. Apart from charm and grace, this movie is also quite funny. All in all, this is a great showcase for the best that Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers have to offer.
