Review of Titus (1999) by Kevin G — 25 Jul 2010
Excellent post modern version of Shakespeare's bloodiest tale. It could have been a bit more mainstreamed by tweaking the language a bit instead of sticking so closely to the Shakespearean dialog. Isn't that the purpose of post modern -- remaking old things into some thing new? Nice performances by all, although I didn't really like Alan Cumming in the emperor role -- seemed to play it a bit too child-like.
Colm Feore and Harry Lennix really stood out, however.
