Review of Titanic (1984) by Wesley W — 29 Mar 2014
A beautifully crafted masterpiece of a film. James Cameron's Titanic is an emotionally powerful, visually stunning, and well acted ride. In my opinion, this is one of James Cameron's best films.
He did such a fantastic job directing and writing this and he succeeded at giving you edge of your seat moments when the ship would start to come down. With this movie's 3 hour running time, I never felt bored at all because I thought the characters and dialogue were both interesting and the movie was filmed so well.
There was maybe just a few cheesy parts but for me, they didn't affect the movie's brilliance at all. Kate Winslet gave a great performance here and I thought Leonardo DiCaprio did good as well and he wasn't just a pretty face for the film.
The supporting cast also succeeded at carrying the movie as well. The visuals are absolutely outstanding here and they still hold up in today's standards. James Horner's score was brilliant and emotionally powerful in every way and Celine Dion's song was fantastic as well and it carried half of the ending credits.
In the end, this is movie that really deserved all the oscars and money it got because this a memorable ride that has at least something for all film lovers to like.
