Review of Three Identical Strangers (2018) by Drew R — 30 Jul 2018
Those of us of a certain age may remember the subjects of this fascinating, unbelievable, ultimately sinister documentary on shows such as Phil Donahue - three engaging, attractive, adorable brothers who had no idea of each other's existence until two of them attend the same New York community college. A classmate quickly figures out the coincidence and enthusiastically arranges an introduction. When a third triplet enters the scene the story really takes off, in a drastically unpredictable and downright frightening way.
To say that this well-crafted documentary is thought provoking is an understatement. You could hear a pin drop at the theater where I saw it. See it with friends and prepare for a follow-up conversation about nature versus nurture, the limits of scientific study, parenting, and family. Highly recommended.
