The reason I like film noir is because you honestly don't know what's going to happen and in this gun for hire you feel a sense of suspense for that reason. Love the fact that Veronica Lake's character stays true to herself and Alan Ladds character is ruthless and not easily swayed which makes for a truly odd couple.
