Review of The World (2004) by Rami A — 21 May 2008
Such a title would suggest a broad scope, but instead it results in the flattening out of world symbols into a single theme park in Beijing. The focus is very much on the personal as the camera prones in on the lives affected by globalism, where in such a facile setting so much (too much) hope is placed in human relationships.
(very close to the bone considering my own experiences with Hong Kong Disneyland).
