Review of The Woman in Red (1984) by Dann M — 07 Feb 2013
Kelly Le Brock stars as The Woman in Red in this formulaic and stereotypical '80s rom-com. Written and directed by Gene Wilder, the film follows a middle-aged family man who becomes infatuated with a beautiful model, but the infatuation soon starts to cause problems with his career and his family.
Aside from Le Brock and Wilder, there are a number of talented comedic actors in the cast, including Gilda Radner and Charles Grodin. But the film is incoherent, and nothing is really achieved or learned by the characters.
There are funny moments here and there, but The Woman in Red is a forgettable and unremarkable comedy.
