Review of The Wiz (1978) by Zandra E — 25 Dec 2011
I've loved this movie since I was a kid. Originally I remember watching it because I loved Michael Jackson and Diana Ross. The soundtrack is plain amazing and if you are looking for a literal interpretation of the original "Wizard of Oz', which is one of my all time favorite films, then you are definitely going to be disappointed.
Watch and enjoy this film as an interpretation and you will definitely enjoy their version of the poppy fields and the changing color horses. Also, if you enjoy 1970s blacksploitation films, you will laugh to the nods this film gives to them without actually being one itself.
