Review of The Wings of the Dove (1997) by David M — 28 Apr 2006
Excellent film!!! I saw this last night with my sister, and we (well, okay mostly me) were going on and on about the human condition, societal impact, miscommunication, deceit, and the amazing symbolism and music that this film provides.
Helena Bonham Carter is phenominal in this film- dark creepy, in love, jealous, and sad. You'll feel sorry for her and hate her at the same time. Definitely NOT a chick flick. This movie is the sort of story that I'd love to write.
This movie incredibly powerful! Don't watch this if you are in the mood for light fluffy film material, because it is heart-wrenching. It will make you reflect on every jealous relationship you have ever been in (at least it did for my sister and me, we stayed up talking about all of our encounters with relationships like this).
If you are an adult looking for answers and reflection, WATCH THIS!!
