Review of The Wild Bunch (1969) by Machelle A — 06 Mar 2008
I can't imagine seeing this in a theater. This movie seems to be made for a couch on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Delightfully pre-quick cuts, pre-shaky-cam, Pekinpah gives time for his plot and characters to breathe, and time for us to wind up for the huge gunfight set pieces.
Loosely about brotherhood, honor among thieves, progress, corporate greed, and more, it made a splash with its rough view of the west. Shanes need not apply.
