Review of The Way We Were (1973) by Jo D — 29 Dec 2012
Fantastic movie. Sometimes love is just not enough to keep a relationship for the long haul and these are the hardest relationships to end and get out of. I found the end odd when Hubbell ran into Katie in front of the Plaza Hotel with his wife he and Katie seemed like they do not keep in touch.
I'm confused because they had a daughter together, the last time we saw them together was when she was born. Strange Hubbell waited so long to ask about their daughter and strange that he doesn't seem to have a relationship with her.
You can tell in the final scene that they still love each other, which is why he can not come over to her home after she invited him & his wife. Weird he wouldn't want to go and see his child though.
