Why didn't they just take a cab?
Rooted firmly in a 70s sense of masculinity, i.e. real men are not "faggots," real men are not soft, etc. Yawn. Hey, why do you "real men" all need to dress up in your outfits in order to feel safe? It's that sort of logical disconnect the film could've explored a bit more.
But the style of this is very clear and interesting.
