Review of The Warriors (1979) by Dylan M — 10 Oct 2015
The Warriors is an exciting film that I really found interesting and enjoyed. When the ring leader of all the gangs in New York is shot, the group The Warriors, is falsely accused and every gang in the city is on their hit list.
This simple plot brings out the thrill and fun in the movie. The sets, spray paintings, and costume designs are very good in the film. They really show the theme of the movie and portrayed the setting New York quite nicely.
The characters are amusing, but the one character I despised was the girl in the movie. I felt like she wasn't completely necessary and didn't stand out to me. Due to the movie being made in the seventies, the acting and action doesn't hold up, but that doesn't take away the greatness behind the movie.
Although some of the action scenes are fun and entertaining enough to watch. The movie has great direction involving pacing and making a great story. The movie doesn't loose its flow and is entertaining from start to finish.
Overall The Warriors was a very fun film with many thrills.
