Review of The Virgin Queen (1955) by David E — 13 Sep 2012
A pretty decent film in which Bette Davis dominates. A bit too Hollywood-idzed with the obligatory sword fights, but an enjoyable film never the less. Perhaps not the most historically accurate portrayal of Elizaeth and Raleigh, but fantastic costumes and great dialogue, leave my only real complaint as wanting their entire relationship on film.
There is much more to the story than you will see in this film.
