Review of The Virgin Queen (1955) by Paul D — 04 Apr 2011
A bit dated (especially the cheesy but mercifully brief fight scenes), but Bette Davis imbues this role with nuance and depth, in a way a lesser actress may not have succeeded. It's definitely odd to watch Joan Collins in these early roles, in the context of who she later became.
Great costumes, which I was glad to see in technicolor!
