Review of The Vampire Lovers (1970) by Christopher S — 26 Oct 2010
Hammer launches another vampire franchise while pushing the boundaries of eroticism in horror movies. Despite its historical significance, it may not be among their best, but under the sure-handed direction of Roy Ward Baker, it packs plenty of gothic atmosphere and overheated vampire melodrama, helped along by the presence of cult icons Ingrid Pitt and Peter Cushing.
Good fun for Hammer fans.
