First part in Hammer's Karnstein trilogy and a Hammer classic as well.
Ingrid Pitt stars in this loose adaption of Carmilla, that has all the Hammer staples and this being the 70's now also throws in naked women and lesbianism into the mixer!
This is hugely entertaining stuff, any film with Ingrid Pitt and Madeline Smith is ok by me. Pitt is excellent in this, really drives the story and comes over as incredibley seductive throughout.
Hammer slightly change vampire lore her and the ending is a touch weak but these are only small gripes with one of Hammer's last really great films.
