Review of The U.S. vs. John Lennon (2006) by Michael K — 31 Dec 2007
Interesting documentary about way John Lennon was dealt with by US authorities, following his appearances at several politically inspired gigs in the US. The only criticism I'd have is that it felt like it was really only touching the surface of the story by concentrating on how the government were dealing with him.
I think there could have been more in the film about his relationship with the left in the US and the exploitation of him by such groups. It's briefly hinted at in one of the television interviews but there isn't much presentation of that side of this story.
Good but felt a bit light and half done.
