Review of The Unbearable Lightness of Being (1988) by Gabriel T — 26 Nov 2007
This is quite an unusual film, but a very good one all the same. I didn't think I was going to like it at first, but then I started to understand the motivations of the main characters and it began to make a lot more sense.
Setting the story amid the Prague Spring and the Soviet invasion of Czechoslovakia was a clever idea. The concepts of the story are very interesting, so much so that I've decided I'm going to buy the novel.
