Review of The Unbearable Lightness of Being (1988) by Elise H — 11 Mar 2012
Really powerful performances, from actors who had not yet made the mark they have today. Juliette Binoche is incredible. Daniel Day Lewis is amazing as allways. He played his character subtly, and detatched, and that directly helped to shape his character's sexuality.
Juliette Binoche is young, and innocent, and caring, and it shows so well. This movie positively aches with sexuality, but it is so much more than that. At the heart of it it deals with loss, and cynicism, and romance, and everything else.
