Review of The Unbearable Lightness of Being (1988) by Chilan P — 02 Nov 2008
The idea of love diffusing the gearworks of oppressive worlds is a beauty that is expressed like no other in cinema and that is why the lightness that romance allows life is translated so sincerely to the screen.
I don't know if I could bare the lightness the movie speaks of anymore myself, yet with a clear mind it's easy to see that it's our history and tragedies that allow us to weigh our fear of absolute vulnerability and freedom down. It's the balance of our nature.
