Review of The Unbearable Lightness of Being (1988) by Bojana B — 05 Jun 2007
This was an interesting mix of a good deal of sex with a pretty interesting look at the 1968 invasion of Prague by the Soviet Russians. I am a huge fan of Juliette Binoche from the Colors movies but Daniel Day-Lewis and his character made me want to gag a little.
It was okay. If you are interested in this very long movie I'd say make it longer and watch the documentary on the second disc- it will help you understand the role of sex in the rest of the story.
Actually, I might want to read the book now which is apparently tons better. That would help in understanding it as well I suppose.
