Review of The Two Popes (2019) by Mauro_Lanari — 27 Dec 2019
(Mauro Lanari).
It is true that Meirelles' subject bears the traces of a healthy rethinking during the working process: from the manichaeistic clash between two bankruptcy theologies (Catholicism is not encountering any "Pope Francis effect") to the marvelous upheaval of what is asserted in 2 Corinthians 12, 9: "But He said to me, «My grace is all you need. My power is strongest when you are weak.»" No grace or divine power but the full manifestation of the weakness of two human beings.
