Review of The Two Popes (2019) by Imthenoob — 22 Dec 2019

Pryce and Hopkins do an amazing job, which is no surprise considering how talented they are as actors. Sadly, the film doesn't do their performances justice. While it is not a bad movie, a lot of the flashback scenes feel tacked on and out of place. It doesn't fit the narrative well and to me, it felt like they were rather unnecessary. And at times, the movie felt a bit cheesy and made me roll my eyes more than once.

Overall, not bad, worth checking out for the performances but that is about it.
