Review of The Three Musketeers (1948) by Allan C — 03 Sep 2012
Odd-ball Gene Kelly vehicle puts him in an Douglas Fairbanks/Errol Flynn swashbuckler style retelling of the oft told Dumas tale. Gene's athleticism serves him well, but he really seems out of place here.
However, compared to the wildly miscast Van Heflin, Gene seems born to play D'Artagnan. It's not a bad film, but it seems like it should have been a whole lot better.
