Review of The Three Musketeers (1948) by Mike F — 08 Nov 2008
Good old fashioned romp. Vincent Price needs to be in it more as the villainous Richlieu, and it could have been tightened a little more, but those are minor quibbles. Gene Kelly is sufficient as D'Artagnan, but the real stars are June Allyson as Constance and the great Van Heflin as Athos.
One other problem - the lovey music. Can't take it seriously after it's been spoofed for the last 60 years.
