Review of The Three Caballeros (1944) by Rachel B — 17 Aug 2008
Donald returns to South America where he meets a few new friends. Basically this is a film of lots of different little stories. We learn about a penguin who doesn't like the cold, Donald learns about different birds. Donald then meets a cookie lady who is a real person, so I believe this is the first full length Disney film to integrate live action with cartoon? Donald dances with her and the band then he takes a carpet ride and gets a little frisky with some beach babes!
This film isn't bad, it's basically just random stuff strung together. It's funny in places and is a magical musical journey. It feels like the Disney artist are just messing around, but while doing this they have come up with new and different ways of doing things not seen before. Overall your children will love this and so will a few adults, but you can easily dip in and out.
