Morris does away with the 'voice of God' narration so typical to documentary film, and instead allows the fragmented, multiple testimonies intersect, dismiss and underscore one another to reveal "the.
Mystery." Morris didn't invent the approach, but its rarely been done better.
A fantastic film which examines the integrity of 'the thin blue line' between law and chaos, so to speak. The worst thing you can say about it is that Court TV owes its existence to the suspense Morris's approach stirred--only television borrows it all so badly . . .
