Review of The Ten Commandments (1956) by Marco F — 29 Mar 2009
An epic masterpiece by one of the earliest filmmakers, Cecil B. DeMille. Heston's great performance, the brilliant, literate script and the epic storytelling involved here plus the amazing yet dated special effects combine to make a truly overwhelming experience.
The VistaVision cinematography is great too, so is the editing. One of the few times in movies where the remake is better than the original.
