Review of The Ten Commandments (1956) by Christina J — 26 Jan 2010
Whenever I get around to seeing this again, I'll provide a fuller review. It's certainly a classic, with good performances by Heston and Brynner, and the production is vast and awe-inspiring. Even the special effects hold up pretty well after all these years.
The script is awkward at times, and, at 220 minutes, it does drag (particularly in the first half), but the last half-hour is one memorable scene after another.
