(1957) The Tall T.
ADULT WESTERN.
The way that I saw this film at the time was that I was completely oblivious about the storyline and that it was another Budd Boetticher and Randolph Scott team up and at the same time I was in the mood to watch another Western film. All I'm going to say is that it's an ADULT WESTERN with tension!!! The reason I say ADULT is because this is not like any 'shoot em up' John Wayne film but deals more on a serious adult theme which kids won't like unless they're sophisicated for a somewhat subtle mature storyline that has alot of tension. This movie deals with the nerves and the psyche on a relatable situation that in my opinion one of the most realistic westerns ever made with a superficial ending. One of the biggest things most Westerns lack of are the credibility, it's always so fantasy- like and extremely glamourous and instead of The Tall T just showing the situation and then 'it' to be resolved so quickly, it takes it's time into resolving itself as the film progresses which is why this film is a masterpiece!!!
4/4.
