Review of The Tall T (1957) by Gregory S — 04 Jan 2009
Should be required viewing for every dumbass 17 year old who thinks Sergio Leone invented the 'adult' or revisionist western. Budd Boetticher took a brilliant new approach to the genre by pushing it's simplicity to the point of being abstract.
In these films as Boetticher said the 'the heroes and villains are practically interchangeable'. The fact that the film's abstract view takes place in a little more than a 24 period is what makes the film truly stand out.
