Review of The Spanish Prisoner (1997) by Christopher P — 19 Aug 2007
A complex, smart mystery about scam artistry--but is much more deadly than mere pocket-pickers. The viewers will find themselves prisoner to the consistent flow of twists and turns. I enjoyed this movie from beginning to end.
However, I must say that I was able to guess almost every upcoming 'twist' in this film. I saw the conclusion before it came, I figured out who the bad guys were beforehand. This movie is quite predictable (but maybe its suppose to be that way).
Nonetheless, while the dialogue is very strange (this movie is almost Broadway-ish in its dialogue), the strange turns that are predictable yet still so mysterious are well executed. This film recieved a lot of critical aclaim, but I don't think it was a good as many said.
Nonetheless, an honest and novel story that is well worth anyone's time. A very solid B+.
