Review of The Song of Bernadette (1943) by Tim C — 20 Dec 2007
Jennifer Jones delivers an Oscar winning performance as Bernadette, who sees a vision of the Virgin Mary and whose life changes as well as those around her. And, in the time of anti-religious facism, it makes sense that this movie is about the freedom of religion as well as a good reminder that religion is better human than institutionalized.
Great film. Jennifer Jones really shows you that a "saint" is really a person willing to accept their own humility as well as the humility of others without judgment like G-d.
