Review of The Seventh Victim (1943) by Bob V — 08 Mar 2011
I'm not such a fan. While Kim Hunter and Jean Brooks are both fantastic, the film muddles in a weird devil-worshiping subplot. The ending is haunting, to be sure, but it suffers because it was meant to be longer, and Val Lewton's insistence on using first-time director Mark Robson prompted to the studio to cut his budget from A to B.
Somewhat sad.
